Mara Nyika Camp
Mara Nyika Camp:
Relais & Châteaux on the Naboisho Plains
Mara Nyika, meaning “Large Plains” or “Great Plains”, evokes the romance of East Africa’s sweeping savannahs — where light canvas stirs in the breeze and wildebeest call across the land, their voices answered by the twilight roar of lion.
Set in a secluded valley within Kenya’s private Naboisho Conservancy, Mara Nyika Camp straddles a seasonal stream and blends seamlessly with its surroundings. Elevated walkways and suites nestled beneath the canopy of flat-topped Acacia kirkii trees give the camp a treetop atmosphere — a treehouse under canvas, with expansive views across the wilderness.
Wilderness, Seamlessly Private
Each guest suite is thoughtfully located to ensure privacy and foster a deep connection with the landscape. The camp’s design embodies a spirit of exploration and impermanence — a celebration of wilderness and the freedom it offers. Privacy is at the heart of the experience here: space to think, breathe, explore and indulge — all set against one of Africa’s most stunning backdrops. Mara Nyika Camp also proudly belongs to the esteemed Relais & Châteaux, alongside sister Great Plains Conservation safari camps – Mara Plains Camp and ol Donyo Lodge.
Open-Vehicle Safaris,
Real-World Impact
Guests at Mara Nyika Camp can explore the Naboisho Conservancy on open-vehicle safari drives or venture further into the Maasai Mara National Reserve during longer stays. The camp’s presence supports over 500 Maasai families through conservation fees, aiding in the protection of this important wildlife corridor for future generations.
